Earlier today, at approximately 10:30 AM, Mahopac Falls Fire Department, EMS, Putnam County Medics, Carmel Volunteer Ambulance Corps (CVAC), and New York State Police (NYSP) responded to a motor vehicle accident (MVA) on the Taconic State Parkway southbound, just south of Peekskill Hollow Road. The incident involved a truck that was struck by a tree, with possible entrapment reported.

Upon arrival, Mahopac Falls FD units Engine 19-2-1 and Rescue 19-6-1 determined there was no entrapment. Fire crews assisted CVAC with patient packaging and provided traffic control while first responders worked the scene.

The southbound lanes were temporarily closed for safety. CVAC transported the driver to Westchester Medical Center for further evaluation. The scene was turned over to the NYSP, and Mahopac Falls FD crews returned to service at approximately 11:08 AM.
