On the evening of November 8, 2024, Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department was called to a brush fire on Myrtle Avenue that posed a potential threat to Mahopac Central School District buses. Thanks to the swift actions of our members, the fire was knocked down quickly, and no school property was damaged.
We’re especially proud to highlight the efforts of several young members of our department who are also students in the district. Last night, during the Mahopac Central School District Board meeting, they were recognized for their dedication and bravery in helping to protect their school community: • Angelique Kavalieratos • Diego Espejo-Leta • Madelynn Behrendt • Hans Schweizer (an employee, not a student—but we’re proud of him too!)
We thank the school board for honoring these individuals and continue to applaud all our volunteers for their service to the community. |
