Last night at approximately 7:20pm, Mahopac Falls Fire and EMS were dispatched to a tree and wires down, with the tree on a car and occupants possibly injured. Thankfully, all occupants were out of the vehicle upon arrival.

2nd Assistant Chief Stasiak took command of the scene with Lieutenant Loprieno managing operations. LT Loprieno reported three patients. Two patients signed RMAs and one patient was transported to Westchester Medical Center for evaluation.

Chief Stasiak coordinated with Carmel PD to close Route 6N between Secor Road and Parker Drive. Due to primary wires down and a compromised pole, NYSEG was urgently requested. Unfortunately, due to the severe storm passing through Putnam County, there is no ETA on NYSEG's arrival.

The road remained closed for an extended time due to the storm's impact. It was determined that the tree was struck by lightning, causing it to fall.
