The month of October brings a smile to the faces of the many fire fighters of the Mahopac Falls Fire Dept., because that is when they get to interact with the children of the district. Rolling out on a well tuned schedule prepared by FF Bill Lindsey, Fire Prevention Coordinator, his assistants meet and greet the many children brought out to learn, some have been through the show before, some for their first time. This year brings the return of the Safety Trailer, a self contained unit that can show the dangers that can occur in the home and how to deal with them. Well behaved wide eyed youngsters flock to see the shiny, big fire trucks with their questions, every gets their turn to see anything and everything. One of the big thrills is to see Sparky and hopefully to have a group shot taken with our fire prevention mascot.
