New Ambulance In Town

Mahopac Falls Vol. Fire Dept. has received delivery of "the new kid on the block" in the way of a re-chassied ambulance. For the first time in forty years, it was voted to go with a four-wheel drive Ford 450 truck chassis after having all "van fronts" on our rigs. A little past 5pm, Saturday afternoon, the Mahopac Falls Fire Dept. received a call for smoke in a house on Secor Rd.. Rolling out with a full structure fire assignment, Mahopac Falls Fire, Heavy Rescue, EMS and Fire Police converged on the scene with all equipment from both stations, along with Carmel Police Officer Chris Fox. We have lived through years of the "Me" generation, but today, the members of the MFVFD said goodbye to those and welcomed the "US" generation. One of the senior members, fondly known as the "Geezers", was healing from the effects of a fall suffered some months back. It is with deep sadness the Mahopac Falls FD announces the passing of Doug Hyatt. Doug passed away on December 15, 2018 and was 82 years old.

Just after 10am this morning (Mon. 12/3), the Mahopac Falls Fire Department was dispatched to an activated fire alarm at the Mahopac High School. Responding within minutes with a first due Pumper/Tanker and Heavy Rescue, firefighters found the principal at the curb waiting for them.
