It’s been a long day for The Falls. Early this morning, at approximately 6:50 AM, Mahopac Falls Fire Department responded to a mutual aid request from Somers Fire Department for a 2nd alarm structure fire on Loomis Drive.

Captain Ward (19-9-4) and a crew aboard 19-2-1 provided assistance as needed on the scene, supporting our neighboring department in their firefighting efforts.

This afternoon at approximately 3:55 PM, Mahopac Falls Fire Department was dispatched to Mexico Lane for a report of a tree and wires down, sparking a brush fire.

Upon arrival, fire crews encountered active fire involving downed wires. Due to the electrical hazard, firefighters secured the area and awaited the utility company while working to contain the fire from spreading further.
